![]() To be clear: if you are running Minecraft on a smartphone, a console or a tablet, it is may not compatible with the regular (Java) Minecraft. ![]() There are other Minecraft versions (e.g., on mobile devices) but they require different software. We are going to setup a Minecraft server for the old-school Java-based Minecraft. It took me a couple of long evenings to set things up, but if you follow my instructions, you can probably get it done in a couple of hours, once you have assembled all the material. So I thought I would contribute my own technical guide. There are many guides to setting up a Minecraft server on a Raspberry Pi, but the information is all over the place, and often obsolete. And you can expose your kids to servers, Linux and so forth. So, putting two and two together, you can build cheaply a little box (not much bigger than my hand) that can be used as a permanent, low-power, perfectly silent game server. Meanwhile, you can order neat little Raspberry Pi Linux computers for less than $50. Since it is written in Java, it can run easily on Linux. Minecraft sells its client software, but the server software is freely available. My kids are gamers, and they love Minecraft. If the wind would be 3.9, you move one and a half ring etc. If now the wind would be 2.6, you need to move a full ring. This is how much wind a full ring compensates. So, let’s say you have a club with the accuracy of 20 selected, each ring values 2.6. Now you will need to check this chart here one time: So you don’t need to have it that difficult, you just need to know the accuracy of your current club (which is not that difficult). I notices one thing when putting all the values in connection – they don’t depend on the club, they depend on the accuracy of the club. So how do I dare saying that I have a simpler way when all these people out there have been putting so much effort into their wind charts? Golf Clash Wind Chart That Is Actually No Wind Chart ![]() So that’s why I was just trying to put all of these numbers into an easy formula (or rather said, rule of thumb). … and if I don’t check them I will miss the spot too many times and lose (still not enjoying) I just don’t like checking these charts all the time, this makes me enjoy the game a lot less… They basically will show you how much you need to adjust for the wind in Golf Clash. Ok, the headline might give a wrong impression, I DO have a lot of respect for the people who took the time and effort to get the wind charts together in hundreds of hours of trying! If you see the number 1.5, you need to move to the middle of the orange ring, if you see 3, it’s the outside line of the blue circle and so on… Why I don’t like Wind Charts in Golf Clash This number interprets into the rings you see, each ring is one number. You need to look up the club you use and the wind you have and they will tell you a number between 1-5. ![]() That’s what the wind charts will tell you, nothing more. The only reason why you need wind charts is because you need to know how far you will need to adjust. that’s a lot of work and you need to repeat that all the time?! ?
![]() I’ve talked to enough developers to see that we aren’t close to changing this yet. Let’s not even talk technical even if it is getting close, when companies want to develop a beautiful, ground-breaking app, they choose native. You may think the UX is getting close, but there’s always more jank. The web isn’t close to competing with higher-end native apps. In his blog post, he highlighted some radical statements about the mobile web. Here’s another expert talking about the look and feel of hybrid apps. James Long, a Senior Web Developer at Mozilla developer at Mozilla, insists that the mobile web will never compete with native app development. It takes a great deal of extra work on the part of HTML5 developers to try to produce platform-consistent user interface behaviour, which typically falls short of that of the native UI.” “Hybrid apps are normally considered a compromise in terms of the user experience. Marko Lehtimaki, CEO and founder of AppGyver, wrote a guest post for Venture Beat, where he said: #1 If you’re okay with an ‘okay’ user experience Developing a Telemedicine App: How to Overcome Challenges.Develop A Successful Healthcare Mobile App: The Ultimate Guide. Then why would anyone bother building a native app? Here are 5 situations where you’d choose a hybrid app over a native one. App builder vs custom development is another topic of discussion that’s heating up in the mobile app development for entrepreneurs space. The most persuasive being the low cost of development (developers estimate 30-90% cost savings over native apps), followed by time consumption and the convenience to run on any platform and device. There are several factors that make hybrid app development seem attractive to some entrepreneurs. Hire a React Native app development company to help you build a hybrid app. These apps can be easily deployed across multiple platforms and is usually the cheaper and faster solution to develop a mobile app. The more recent technologies include React Native and Flutter from Facebook and Google. Hybrid apps: Technically, a hybrid app consists of a HTML5 web app within a native ‘wrapper.’ This is a mobile app written using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, and then compiled into native iOS, Android or other mobile platform using wrapper technologies such as PhoneGap or Cordova. These apps take longer to develop and cost more. A native app developed for iOS won’t work on Android devices, and vice-versa. Native apps: These are built for a specific operating system, using a programming language such as, Java, Objective-C, Swift, etc. ![]() That said, they can get in the way of some daily activities, such as sleep, for example. Bracelets and watches are typically hard to lose. ![]() Most trackers are wrist-based, though there are also clip-on options and fitness-tracking rings. One important question to ask yourself before choosing a fitness tracker is the type of design you want. What Are the Different Types of Fitness Trackers? The company charges $79.99 for the tracker and $3.99 per month (after a one-year trial) to use most of its features. Whoop justifies its ongoing membership fees through regular app updates and timely features.Īmazon takes a similar approach with its Halo View wristband. Whoop offers its basic black wristband for free with the purchase of a membership, which unlocks access to its app. Some, like the Whoop strap, have a different pricing model. With most fitness trackers, you pay one price for the device and can access all or most of its accompanying software features for free. If you work out a lot and want ample fitness-tracking features, we recommend spending at least $99 to get the tracking tools you might want or need. If you walk and don't do much else, there are great options in the $25 to $99 range. Don't get suckered into buying an expensive tracker if your primary activity is walking. Often, these features are meant to tempt athletes and exercise enthusiasts. More expensive trackers usually include built-in optical heart rate monitors and GPS. The simplest and least expensive trackers often lack a display, so you can't check your step count unless you look at your smartphone. What Is the Best Fitness Tracker for the Money?įitness trackers range in price from $25 to $400 or more. ![]()

It is definitely a good blend of realism and action with stealth and slow paced sections to break up the action. Gameplay ranges from s tealth operations to full blown out combat and anything in between. You’ll play as 2 different special forces operatives, one US army ranger, and even an appache helicopter weapons operator for one mission. The singleplayer campaign consists of a prologue, “day one” and “day two”, each with their own number of missions in each. Other immersive details in regards to the weaponry is that dust is thrown into the air from gunshot impacts, resulting in a lot of visually appealing gunplay. Shotguns, snipers and grenades all have the ability to dismember and decapitate your enemy and makes for some some satisfying long distance sniper sequences. Guns feel weighty and the gunplay is fairly satisfying. Although the game is now 7 years old, the visuals are still quiet impressive and beautiful and the game often has a very cinematic feel to it. Medal of Honor (2010) is definitely an unmissable title. Medal Of Honor Warfighter Pc Game pre-installed: No one plays rambo in real life, because that’s how you die. Yeah, there’s hand-holding, but it the game it makes sense. This is probably the most under-appreciated military shooter in recent memory for me, purely as an on-the-rails gut wrench adrenaline ride (the downhill scramble to the chopper and the stand-your-ground sequences in particular). If you want to see a more realistic shooter than the Call of Duty series with a story grounded in actual events, this is the one. It’s worth picking up, on sale or full price, and getting a solid play through. Your actions make sense, and several times throughout the game you’ll see the other AFO doing their part of the missions. There’s a sense of being part of a larger picture with the radio chatter between AFOs Neptune and Wolfpack and their boss (‘Jimmy,’ or COL Drucker in the cutscenes). The set pieces (vehicle sections, stand-and-fights) are well presented, and logically flow with the game. What makes the single player shine is that it’s based on real events. It’s shorter than some, and it’s not full of Michael Bay explosions like the Call of Duty series (which I also own). The campaign isn’t going to appeal to everyone. There are some reality breakers, like a general in a suit during cutscenes or the wrong time period highspeed gofast gear on dudes in a game set in 2001, but I can put them aside and enjoy the atmosphere. Little things stand out to me – the visible selector switch from semi to full, the relatively realistic weapons models, the radio chatter and dialogue – as authentic. It looks like Afghanistan, it sounds like Afghanistan, and despite the game-isms, does a good job of telling the story. ![]() The setting looks like the mountains I flew over and the valley I rucked in. Unlike Call of Duty – Black Ops II, this actually gets Afghanistan right. ![]() Sound design is great, characters feel organic, and gameplay has good weight to it whether you’re laying down lead with a Vulcan or knifing someone up close. Had a good balance of combat, stealth, vehicles, and characters in special units having their own interesting tasks. Played through the whole campaign in about 3-4 hours, but just about every mission had good variety and felt unique. ![]() Lightbox Interactive’s spiritual successor to 2007’s Warhawk might have still flown under most gamers’ radars this year, but that didn’t make it any less epic. It managed to live up to the hype and not only deliver the best multiplayer experience of 2012, but one of the best ever. Instead, Sony’s other multiplayer-focused shooter that won our hearts at E3 2011 emerged as our winner, Starhawk. With technology finally catching up to the concept, Sony’s free-to-play sequel offered a massive multiplayer online first-person shooter on a scale unlike anything before by allowing for thousands of players to battle in a never-ending three-faction war. But Planetside 2‘s high PC requirements kept it out of most gamers’ hands despite its free price tag. Planetside 2 featured the return of one of the biggest (literally) multiplayer experiences ever. If it weren’t for its short length that kept us from playing it hooked for months, Journey would have been our pick for the Best Multiplayer (co-op) Game of the Year and possibly even 2012’s Game of the Year. Speaking of surprising and innovative, one of this year’s smallest and best games was a downloadable indie title that might not have featured competitive multiplayer but did allow for people to play together online in an experience unlike anything before it. 4 multiplayer with maps packed full of hundreds of neutral zombies quickly turned out to be amazingly fun to play with friends and the better of the two big RE games released this year. Surprisingly, after spending some time with ORC, the unique fast paced 4 vs. Many critics and fans panned Slant Six’s competitive take on the Resident Evil series for some tricky controls and for straying too far from what made the original games so great. Other than Mass Effect 3, one of the most controversial games this year was Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Other developers even went as far as dumbing down their highly underrated multiplayer in the case of Fall of Cybertron, High Moon Studios actually removed many features from the previous game and simplified gameplay to try and bring in more casual fans.Īlthough Halo 4 and Black Ops II easily won this year when looking at sales numbers and sheer number of gamers online playing, some less popular games were responsible for some of the most original ideas and best moments in multiplayer gaming this year that will hopefully be taken into account by other developers in the future. Our choice for 2012’s Game of the Year, Max Payne 3, was more about the single-player experience than the multiplayer, but that didn’t stop Rockstar from delivering their best multiplayer experience yet by bringing bullet-time gameplay to the masses. ![]() While both Halo and Call of Duty returned this year with very strong multiplayer experiences that involved nice new improvements to help change up gameplay a tad, both still played it a bit too safe in order to not upset hardcore fans and didn’t do anything to help take multiplayer gaming to the next level. 2012 was a big year for multiplayer gaming with titles offering a multitude of different ways to get your multiplayer fix. ![]() ![]() This is all fine, but designers should keep in mind what devices and apps their books will be read on small smartphone screens might mean that what seems big on iPad or Fire will still seem small on iPhone.
